Best Selection of 90+ Point Wines Anywhere!!!
We have one of the largest selections of TOP RATED WINES in the nation. Our outstanding
staff selected
many of these wines well before they received outstanding ratings allowing
us to purchase large quantities at bargain prices. These wines all received top honors
from noted wine publications including; Robert Parker's Wine Advocate,
The Wine Spectator, and Stephen Tanzer's International
Wine Cellar.
Best of all, we do not mark these wines up after they received
their high ratings. We maintain our low prices and in many cases we mark down these
wines to ensure that we have the best prices available. If a supplier marks up a wine
after it receives a high rating - we won't offer it to you as we believe we can offer you
outstanding, and high-rated wines, at good prices.
All SALE Wines featured on this page are marked down 10 - 25%. Additionally,
there is a 10% Mixed Case Discount on all non-sale wines. So when you purchase
12 or more bottles of sale and non-sale wines, you get 10% off all the non-sale wines.
You can't beat these wines, or these prices!
CAVALLOTTO BAROLO BRICCO BOSCHIS 2005, ITALY
The 2005 Barolo Bricco Boschis is gorgeous and linear in its expressive aromatics and focused core of fruit. Medium in body, the wine reveals outstanding balance and depth, with gorgeous inner perfume and a long, refined close. Sweet notes of menthol, raspberries and spices linger on the finish. The 2005 doesn't have the sheer exuberance of the 2004 and the firm tannins might make this wine hard to fully appreciate in its infancy, but with some time in bottle, this, too, will very likely develop into a gem. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025.
I continue to be deeply impressed with the wines that are emerging from this family-owned property in Castiglione Falletto. Cavallotto makes their Barolos in an updated traditional style that has produced compelling results, especially over the last few years. Cavallotto is one of Piedmont's best kept secrets, and not just for Barolo. Their entry-level wines offer superb quality for the money. Incidentally, I have seen a fair amount of 2000 and 2001 Barolo Bricco Boschis Riserva Vigna San Giuseppe on the US market recently at what are very fair prices, to put it mildly. Readers with access to those wines should run, not walk, as a number of recent bottles have been spectacular, especially for the money.

VEGA SICILIA PINTIA TORO TINTO 2005, SPAIN
"Bodegas Pintia is owned by Vega Sicilia. Pintia is located further west along the Duero River inside the warmer D.O. of Toro. The estate owns 96 hectares of land. The first vintage released was the 2001. As for the 2005 Pintia, it is 100% Tinta de Toro aged for one year in new French and American oak. Opaque purple-colored, it offers a complex perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a full-bodied, ripe, layered wine with intense flavors, serious complexity, and exceptional length. It has enough structure to unfold for another 4-6 years and drink well through 2025."

REVELLO BAROLO VIGNA GIACHINI 2005, ITALY
The 2005 Barolo Giachini is a rich, explosive wine loaded with fruit. Here the profile tends towards a darker expression than that found in the Gattera. The wine remains compelling for its textural richness rather than detail, while the characteristic floral notes that are one the hallmarks of this site reappear on the finish, framing the wine nicely. The terrain at Giachini contains a larger percentage of sand than some of the other vineyards in La Morra and yields perfumed wines that at times resemble those from Rocche dell'Annunziata. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025.
This is another outstanding set of wines from brothers Enzo and Carlo Revello, two young, passionate growers in La Morra who embody the artisan spirit that is so alive in these hills. The winery itself is located in the Annunziata part of La Morra and offers beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards. The 2005 Barolos clearly show the importance of vineyard exposure and microclimate in this vintage. Most of the single-vineyard wines see 50% new oak with the exception of the Gattera, which is aged in a medium-sized cask.

DOM DE LA MORDOREE CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE 2008, FRANCE
This superb Chateauneuf du Pape estate is run by Chrisophe Delorme and his brother from their cellars in Tavel. They produce spectacular Chateauneuf du Papes. Their Chateauneuf du Papes have been recognized by the village vignerons in their Festival of St.-Marc, Mordoree always finishes first or second in those blind tastings. The purple-colored 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape Reine des Bois is loaded. Although still very young, it reveals an extraordinary depth of juicy blackberry and cassis fruit interwoven with notes of roasted herbs, meat juices, camphor, and a touch of licorice. The wine boasts great depth, a superb texture, and a full-bodied richness nicely framed by high yet velvety tannins and fresh acidity.
80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Syrah, 2.5% Vaccarese, 2.5% Counoise. 60 year-old vines, Aged in 50% oak barrels.
"Quite ripe and well-rounded for the vintage, with flattering blueberry, blackberry and fig paste notes liberally laced with spice, toast and fruitcake flavors. The long, toasty finish is dense, with a lightly firm edge. Drink now through 2022."

VEGA SICILIA PINTIA TORO TINTO 2004, SPAIN
With their perennially impressive Pintia, Vega Sicilia, Spain's "first growth" and most prestigious wine estate, shows us how spectacular wines from Toro can be. The evocatively named Tinta de Toro weighs in at a hefty 14.7%, yet is deliciously aromatic, with notes of mocha and violet to the fore. Densely textured with firm tannins, this splendid wine will continue to improve over the next ten years.
"The 2004 Pintia comes from a superior vintage. Similarly styled to its older sibling, it is simply more flamboyant and opulent. The temptation is to drink this heady effort now but those who can delay gratification for a few years will be amply rewarded."

MARENGO BAROLO BRICCO DELLE VIOLE 2005
The 2005 Barolo Bricco Viole opens with pretty floral aromatics that lead to red fruits, menthol and minerals. This beautifully poised Barolo reveals lovely balance in a harmonious style, with notable integration of its tannins. The 2005 doesn't quite have the explosive personality of the 2004, but it does offer gorgeous drinking in a more immediate expression of Nebbiolo. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2021.

On the palate the wine is opulent, complex, intense, and super-concentrated. It has a firm structure and enough tannin to develop for another 5-7 years. The finish lasts for longer than one minute. VEGA SICILIA TINTO VALBUENA 5 2004, SPAIN
The saturated purple 2004 Valbuena offers up an expressive perfume of mineral, scorched earth, espresso, incense, and black cherry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied, intensely flavored, spicy wine with layers of fruit, soft tannins, and a pure, lengthy finish. It will benefit from another 5-7 years of bottle age and offer optimal drinking from 2015 to 2029.
Wine Advocate 94 Pts
Deep red. Exotic, highly perfumed aromas of raspberry, tobacco, potpourri and cedar, with a strong mineral overtone. Sweet cherry and red berry flavors are decadently sweet and complicated by notes of candied rose and licorice, with a mounting tobacco quality. Gains energy with air and finishes with sexy notes of floral pastilles and raspberry liqueur. Extremely sexy right now but I've no doubt that this will age for a very long time.
