GABRIEL MEFFRE LAURUS GIGONDAS 2006, FRANCE
This spicy, medium-bodied red from the Southern Rhone has rich cherry and currant fruit with characteristic notes of clove and tobacco and an earthy finish. Supple and delightful. Medium-bodied but rich and ripe, with a core of mineral, plum, smoke and dark chocolate character. Enjoy this with coq au vin, beef bourguignon, or roast marinated pork.

"Rich but racy, with a lovely black tea and warm cherry sauce perfume leading the way for juicy currant, fig and braised-beef notes. Warm licorice and coffee frame the finish. Drink now through 2014." Wine Spectator 91 Pts    ON SALE - $ 24.98

GABRIEL MEFFRE LAURUS CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE 2006, FRANCE
This wine is produced by one of the largest producer-negociants in the lower Rhone valley, Gabriel Meffre. The Laurus brand is an upper end reserve selection. We think it is the best value Chateauneuf du Pape out there. Highly alluring, expansive bouquet of blueberry, boysenberry, licorice and smoky Indian spices. Broad, and inviting on the palate, offering weighty berry compote flavors and complicating notes of truffle and anise. The spiciness repeats strongly on the finish, which is wonderfully long. A great choice for chicken, stews and turkey.
Decanter Wine Challenge: SILVER MEDAL    ON SALE - $ 34.98

BENNETT LANE LOS CARNEROS RESERVE CHARDONNAY 2007, CALIFORNIA
The 2007 Los Carneros Reserve Chardonnay is our newest release at Bennett Lane! The wine opens with aromas of ripe Fuji Apple and baked pear tarte with hints of toasted hazelnut and vanillin oak. On the palate, crisp juicy Bartlett Pear flavors are complemented by a touch of barrel fermented nuttiness and luscious ripe fruit. The wine has a rich and long bright clean finish. Drinkable now, yet the lively acidity will allow the wine to age up to five plus years.    $ 46.99

BERTRAND AMBROISE 1ER CRU CLOS DES ARGILLIERES 2004, FRANCE
Ruby-red. Pungent, ripe aromas of blackberry and espresso. Fat and full, with plump black cherry fruit leavened by firm acids and substantial dusty tannins. Ripe but not overly sweet, with an absolutely sublime balance and lengthy, refined finish.    $ 47.99

CH LABEGORCE ZEDE MARGAUX 2006, FRANCE
A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the wine's dense plum/purple color is followed by smoky aromas of incense, blue fruits as well as black currants, cedar, and a hint of dried herbs. Medium-bodied, moderately tannic, savory, and concentrated, it will require 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for a decade or more. Velvety finish; this wine is quintessentially a Margaux, and will delight for years to come.    $ 49.99

CLOS DU CAILLOU LES SAFRES CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE ROUGE 2007, FRANCE
This 100% Grenache wine is nothing less than dynamite in 2007, a mix of serious spice and lush, red-fruited, amazingly pure juice. Very fresh and very concentrated at once we love just how easy it is to approach, but its true beauty lies in how it evolves in the glass. "Les Safres" echoes the terroir from which the wine is born the sandy soils of "Bédines" delivers a wine of harmony and grace.

"Deep, vivid red. Impressively fresh, sexy bouquet of dark berries, smoky herbs, minerals and Asian spices. Very precise flavors of sweet blackberry and boysenberry are nicely supported by fully absorbed tannins and gentle mineral snap. Already extremely alluring, this 100%-grenache wine finishes with outstanding clarity, spiciness and length." - IWC 93 Pts    $ 67.99

SEGHESIO BAROLO LA VILLA 2004, ITALY
2008 Wine Spectator Top 100 Award - #14
"Seghesio is yet another producer who seems to have arrived at a newfound level of elegance. Fermentations have gradually been lengthened and the use of French oak is down from previous vintages. The 2004 Barolo La Villa is notably elegant and restrained for this bottling. It opens with perfumed aromatics that meld into layers of ripe dark fruit intermingled with sweet notes from the French oak. This superbly well-balanced, poised Barolo should be even better with another few years of bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2022." Wine Advocate 94 Pts

"What a beautiful nose, with flowers, licorice, ripe fruit and fresh leather. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a wonderful ripeness of fruit, yet this is balanced and structured. Very smooth. The best wine I have ever had from this producer." The 2003 is awesome too- drink it now and wait for the 2004 to come around. Best after 2012.
Wine Spectator 95 Pts    ON SALE - $ 69.98

PERTIMALI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2004, ITALY
Pertimali di Livo Sassetti is considered among the greatest of all Brunello di Montalcino wines. Unusual for the zone, a Pertimali Brunello is almost Burgundian in style - in youth the wines can be somewhat unforthcoming, but as they mature they unfold beautifully. This can be at least partly attributed to the Montosoli hill on which the estate's vineyards are sited; the cru is famous for producing wines that are a perfect balance of the power and richness of southern Montalcino with the finesse of the north. The wine is characterized by seductive fragrance of violets, blackberry and cherry fruits, and spice, with a lengthy, fascinating palate. A staple in any Italian wine lover's collection vintage-in and vintage-out.

"Candied plum notes, with hints of flowers and mushroom, follow through to a full-bodied palate, with very soft, juicy tannins and lightly grilled meat, berry and fresh shiitake mushroom flavors. A decadent style. Best from 2010 through 2015. 1,800 cases made Wine Spectator 93 Pts - Wine Advocate 94 Pts    ON SALE - $ 89.98

PALMAZ VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2003, CALIFORNIA
Ripe berry, black cherry, and red currant with a hint of chocolate are at the forefront of this estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon. Firm, well integrated tannins add complexity to the layers of dark fruit, dried herbs and spicy oak flavors. The supple texture and good depth allow the flavors to persist and lengthen the finish. This wine will continue to develop thru 2013.    ON SALE - $ 119.98

YALUMBA THE RESERVE 2002, AUSTRALIA
To categorise the 2002 Reserve, the finest parcels of wine were selected from the best blocks as they were fermenting. Indigenous or wild yeasts, naturally present on the grape skins were allowed to initiate the fermentation. These wild ferments have helped contribute to the individual complexities of the wine, creating richness and fine textures. The Cabernet component was sourced mainly from Eden Valley, with the Shiraz sourced from Barossa Valley. Concentrated deep red in colour, the nose is full of deep red fruits with suggestions of mint and spicy cedary oak. Powerfully constructed and concentrated, the palate is thick and ripe with juicy dark fruits combined with creamy oak, underpinned by velvety smooth tannins. The Reserve is a wine that should be drinking at its optimum in 8-12 years from vintage. 96 POINTS JAMES HALLIDAY AUSTRALIAN WINE COMPANION    $ 159.99
