BEAULIEU PICPOUL DE PINET 2008, FRANCE
The latest installment of a perennial amazing value, the 2008 Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet Hugues Beaulieu from the region's Cave de Pomerols coop smells of clover, musk melon and sea air. Subtly chalky, it finishes with invigorating salinity, juicy, melon fruit, and a virtual crunch of fresh garden greens. Here is a wine that delivers the lilt, minerality, and refreshment reminiscent of a Muscadet, dry Riesling, or Jacquerre-based Savoie white, but with relatively low acidity and a soft mouth-feel. Great one by the case!!!

FUENTE ELVIRA VERDEJO OAK AGED RUEDA 2005, SPAIN
The 2005 Fuente Elvira Fermetado en Barrica was fermented and aged in 80% new French and 20% used American oak with a further 6 months in oak after fermentation. Medium gold-colored, it offers lovely aromas of apricot, peach, and honey with a hint of vanilla in the background. This is followed by a round wine with a viscous texture, nearly sweet fruit, excellent depth and a lengthy, fruity finish. The oak treatment seems to have fleshed out this outstanding wine without being obtrusive. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.

HENRY'S DRIVE PILLAR BOX RED 2007, AUSTRALIA
There's a reason the critics love this wine so much year in and year out and that can be summed up in the work "drinkability." "Purple-colored, it exhibits an expressive
nose of spice box, earth notes, blueberry and
black currant. Ripe, sweet and layered, this
nicely rendered red has exceptional balance and length for its humble price." This blend of 65% Shiraz, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, aged in both French and American oak, offers gobs of rich berry fruit, ample acidity and lots and lots of bang for the incredibly small amount of buck. Drink this awesome value over the next 2-3 years. Pillar Box has a powerful pedigree; fruit sourced from Henry's Drive and winemaking consultation from the renowned Chris Ringland.

San Lorenzo's Montepulciano is ripe, round, and soft. Loads of ripe red berry fruit are complemented with hints of cocoa, licorice and coffee. DOM SALLIES MARSELAN 2007, FRANCE
Grape variety:100% Marselan. 4-year old vines.
Marselan is a hybrid cross between the Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Noir grape varieties. The wine is deep red in colour with a purple hue, the opulent nose exudes notes of
black fruit followed by fig and cocoa flavours in the mouth. The finish is very pleasant, well-balanced and with a generous dose of lingering spice for good measure. This interesting red successfully marries the finesse of Cabernet Sauvignon
(minus its leafy varietal aromas) with the robust, spicy nature of Grenache, at the same time keeping a remarkable freshness despite the relatively high alcohol strength. Serve at room temperature with relatively full flavored meat and cheese dishes.

CH DE VAUGELAS CORBIERES LA PRIEURE 2007, FRANCE
Dark cherry red. Pepper and spice straightaway in the pungent nose. This is a blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. It has some tannic structure, and could develop for a few years more. A good example of the great value for money to be found in this region. Plum and damson aromas are followed by a soft texture with ripe black fruit flavours. The finish is full and rich. A bargain that serves well with summer barbeque.
