BODEGAS ALETTA VERAZ GARNACHA 2013, SPAIN
Fun, easy and vivid this Spanish Grenache is full of fresh raspberry and cherry aromas that are lifted by white pepper and lavender. Tangy, finely etched red berry flavors show good energy and building sweetness. Raspberry and spicecake qualities linger nicely on the sweet, tannin-free finish. An incredible wine for the price. Bright purple. Expressive dark berry and floral scents and flavors show good clarity and a hint of jamminess. Emphatically fruity wine with a supple texture and no tannins to get in the way of easy drinking. Excellent value here.

PATERNINA BANDA AZUL CRIANZA RIOJA 2009, SPAIN
A favorite of Ernest Hemingway, who, in fact, visited the Paternina cellars in La Rioja Alta (considered the best vineyard area of Rioja) while writing Death in the Afternoon, the 2009 Banda Azul is the latest release from this storied bodega, which dates back to 1896. The Banda Azul label, however, is celebrating its 100th anniversary with this 2009 vintage! An impressively powerful vintage for Banda Azul, the 2009 opens with a roasted perfume of dark cherries and vanilla, followed on the palate by authoritative Tempranillo fruit seasoned with notes of spicy vanilla oak from aging in new barrels. Ready to enjoy now, this wine offers a significant aging potential of 4-10 years.

Grab up this wine with 6 years of bottle age that is drinking GREAT!!! The precision with which the flavors of the Tempranillo grape are perfectly set off by the abundant notes of new oak. It's a neat trick, rarely mastered outside of Burgundy or Bordeaux, and it makes Banda Azul something special. You save a ton, but give up almost nothing in terms of polish and sophistication.

BANSHEE RICKSHAW PINOT NOIR 2013, CALIFORNIA
The 2013 Rickshaw Pinot Noir is the fifth vintage from the team at Banshee Wines. As difficult as it is to produce excellent Pinot Noir, it is even more difficult to do so at a fine value. In their development of the Banshee label, the winemakers gained a stable of quality sources for Pinot fruit from the finest AVAs in California, and Rickshaw was born out of this bounty. The largest share of fruit is sourced from the Sonoma Coast, followed by Anderson Valley and the Central Coast. The appeal of the wine is driven by its balance of fruit and earth tones, so just 10% of the wine sees new oak (the remainder being once-used or neutral barrels). For aromatic appeal and complexity, there is some stem inclusion in the fermentation.

The Banshee Rickshaw is crafted from the best wines of some of the highest and well known producers throughout Sonoma County . The resulting pinot has great spice on the nose and fills the mouth with juicy red and blue fruits at about half the price. REG: $17.99    ON SALE - $ 12.98

BANSHEE RICKSHAW CHARDONNAY 2014, CALIFORNIA
For this 2014 Rickshaw Chardonnay, the Banshee/Rickshaw guys - wine industry veterans Baron Ziegler, Noah Dorrance and Steve Graf - used their connections to source chardonnay from top coastal vineyards from Santa Barbara, Sonoma, and on up to Mendocino. By combining their great vineyard sources with their confident and skilled palates for blending, they've created a chardonnay with richness and body combined with vibrant acid structure and aromatics, and fabulous texture, length and balance. Many of the parcels they use are the exact same sources as for other chardonnays that sell for $40 or more. A rare and delicious bargain treat! REG: $17.99    ON SALE - $ 12.98

TORREMORON TINTO RIBERA DEL DUERO 2012, SPAIN
This is one of the most intense, pure and bright Tempranillo wines you'll ever taste. It is made from 80-100 year old vines, which produce grapes with unmistakably pronounced concentration and complexity! An incredible value, this wine has consistently high quality every vintage.

A sensational value, this 2012 Tinto may merit an outstanding rating with another 4-6 months in bottle. It boasts a deep ruby/purple color, a beautiful texture, and a big, sweet bouquet of blackberries, black cherries, licorice and lead pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied with loads of fruit, a precocious appeal, ripe tannin and decent acidity, it can be enjoyed over the next 4-5 years. - Wine Advocate 89 Pts - IWC 90 Pts    $ 12.99

ARMAS DE GUERRA ROSADO MENCIA 2014, SPAIN
Juicy, red berry fruits abound, with a creamy texture that is unusual for rosé wines. This should be deliciously paired with all the usual rosé inspired fare, as well as perhaps some more substantial foods given this wine's excellent fruit intensity and palate presence. The texture of this is almost indulgent! Creamy, with ripe lush fruit, intense minerality, and bright, refreshing acidity. 100% Mencia from Bierzo.    $ 13.99

DIAMANDES PERLITA CHARDONNAY 2013, ARGENTINA
Tropical-fruit aromas are balanced by crisper apple and pear scents, while the palate is plump, round and easygoing. Flavors of pear, melon, green banana and wood spice end creamy but with adequate acidic cut.
James Suckling - 91 Pts    $ 13.99

DOMAINE DU CRET DE BINE "TERROIR DU MARTIN" BEAUJOLAIS 2013, FRANCE
Balanced and lightly creamy, offering pretty flavors of plum sauce and raspberry coulis threaded with hints of ground spice. Elegant, with a floral finish. The perfect wine pairing for a picnic or bistro meal.    $ 14.99

NETZL GRUNER VELTLINER 2014, AUSTRIA
White peach and crisp red apple notes on the nose combine with clean celery and that classic white pepper spice. The pepperiness shows itself immediately on the palate and the overall impression is fresh, clean and dry. This certainly doesnt need food but there is enough acidity to cut through rich, creamy sauces or the Austrian favorite, Schnitzel. It would also be delicious with a salad made up of peppery leaves like endive, with goats cheese and walnuts.    $ 14.99

EOLA HILLS PINOT GRIS 2014, OREGON
This wine was made in 100% stainless steel tanks so there is no Oak to hide the flavors of this delicious light wine. 2014 brings us a new look -and same great flavor you have come to love and expect. This vintage of Pinot Gris was whole cluster pressed and fermented at cool temperatures with yeast that released aromatics of Bergamot tea mixed with grapefruit flavors. True to its character, this wine is crisp, lively and refreshing on the palate.    $ 14.99
