FRACCHIA VOULET MALVASIA DI CASORZO D ASTI, ITALY
A slightly effervescent red wine, light and refreshingly sweet, low alcohol, that should be served chilled. This 100% Malvasia is a conversation piece of every dinner party. Aromas of rose petals, juicy grapes, and soft raspberry flavors balance beautifully with bright acidity. It's one of the few wines that will not suffer in a Chocolate tasting, but serves as a easy going sipper with an after dinner cheese course. Smelly and sharp cheeses are recommended.

Because the Voulet is not heavy or syrupy sweet, it is extremely versatile and often served in Italy as an aperitif. You'll even find Voulet used as the base for inventive cocktails made by the areas top DC-area mixologists. Serve it chilled, and definitely try it with chocolate! We have yet to find someone that doesn't love this wine!    ON SALE - $ 15.98

GRUET BRUT N/V
Aged a minimum of 2 years on the yeast, just like traditional Non-Vintage Brut Champagne this wine is better than a second tier French Champagne at about half the price.
"Subtly complex aromas of dried fruits, snap pea, smoke and beeswax. Brisk, lemony and quite dry, with clean, fresh, slightly metallic flavors. A distinctly grown-up style of sparkling wine, finishing lively and firm." Wine Spectator 89 Pts    ON SALE - $ 17.98

SEEBRICH NIERSTEINER HIPPING RIESLING SPATLESE 2013, GERMANY
Few white wines have achieved the fame that Riesling has in Germany. The Hipping Vineyard at Nierstein benefits from it's close proximity to the Rhine river, as well as the red slate soil of the planted slopes. The resulting wines possess unique life and minerality. Bright and clear in the glass, this Riesling boasts mango, peach and passion fruit aromas. Fine minerality and vibrant acidity creates structural harmony with more tropical fruit tones on the palate. The finish is long and lingering, with hints of slate.    ON SALE - $ 18.98

STAFFORD HILL PINOT NOIR WILLAMETTE VALLEY 2012, OREGON
The nose offers sweet cherry fruit and forest underbrush, with food-friendly acidity and structure on the palate, and a floral perfume in the mouth and finish. Made in the style of traditional Burgundy, the fruit is sourced from non-irrigated vines with fermentation occurring in small open-top tanks that are punched down by hand. Many of the lots are fermented with native yeasts, and all malolactic fermentation occurred naturally. The lots used for this wine are aged for 11 months in up to 15% new French oak. This is consistently one of the best values in Oregon Pinot Noir!

TORZI MATTHEWS SHIRAZ SCHIST ROCK BAROSSA 2006, AUSTRALIA
HOLY SCHIST!!! This is as good a value as you'll find in dry red wine anywhere. There are layers upon layers of complexity for the super-wine-geek but plenty of delicious bright fruit for those just looking for a scrumptious glass of booze.

"Ruby-red. Dark cherry and plum aromas are strongly marked by fresh meat and musky underbrush; licorice and floral pastille notes appear with air, along with a bright mineral quality. Surprisingly sweet on the palate, with bright raspberry and strawberry jam flavors, a silky texture and very light tannins. Expands and gains in sweetness on the impressively broad, long finish. Lots of complexity here for the money." - IWC 90 Pts    ON SALE - $ 19.98

Wonderful flavors of lemon curd, white pepper and red peach emerge in this Spatlese, with candied herb notes and a luscious finish of mint, cream and spice. Drink now through 2038. Wine Spectator 91 Pts    ON SALE - $ 19.98
