THOMAS MOREY CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET VIDE BOURSE 2010, FRANCE
The 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Vide-Bourse is big wine. Layers of rich, almost tropical fruit sit on a broad-shouldered frame. The wine from this vineyard are rounder, meaty and have a slightly mineral, but long, finish in the mouth. This wine has its place among the best of the 1er crus. Fabulous after five years, it has a laying-down potential of 15 to 20 years. "Sensational effort" Burghound 94 Pts

DOMAINE GOUGES NUITS ST GEORGES 1ER CRU LES PRULIERS 2010, FRANCE
"I was a bit surprised by the wines I tasted with Gregoire Gouges. Over the last few years Gouges has worked to make some of his entry-level offerings more accessible...The 2010s were made from 100% destemmed fruit and aged in French oak barrels, 20% new. The [malolactic fermentations] were slow in 2010, and finished in June. The wines were racked for the first time in August...The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Pruliers boasts good fleshiness and juiciness. This is an up-front, decidedly overt style loaded with blue and black fruit. Firm tannins add support, while expressive floral notes give the finish an attractive lift. Here, too, the wine is surprisingly approachable."

THIBAULT LIGER-BELAIR VOSNE ROMANEE AUX REAS 2010, FRANCE
Good deep ruby-red. Very reduced aromas of musky black raspberry,
minerals and flowers accented by menthol. Sweet in the mouth but quite firm, with a distinct rocky character. This is strong and suave for village wine, displaying grip and energy and finishing with fine tannins.

FRANCOIS CARILLON PULIGNY MONTRACHET 1ER CRU PERRIERES 2010, FRANCE
The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrieres literally explodes in the glass with vivid, vibrant fruit, expressive aromatics and pure minerality. Hints of smoke, slate and crushed rocks lead to layers of fruit that take on increasingly exotic tones as the wine sits in the glass. The Perrieres is wonderfully alive from start to finish, constantly changing in the way only great Burgundy can. Although showing beautifully today, one can only imagine where this might go over the next few years, and, hopefully, beyond. Anticipated maturity: 2013+.
A beautiful, very profound nose. Fresh and mineraly; thick, candied raisin flavors along with some rum butter. Intense, long-lasting fruit crème caramel and tarte tatin with a
super buttered finish.
