hey, this is the season for Rosé! The weather is "hotting up" as the Brits say, the cicadas are singing (and singing....and singing...), and America turns its lonely semi-post-pandemic eyes to the ultimate warm weather wine. Rosé comes to us from nearly every major wine region of the world, and Finewine.com has a tremendous selection of Rosés from which to choose!
A Bordeaux rouge with a stratospheric rating and reasonable price is exceedingly rare, so when we offered Château Bourdieu Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux 2019 in April, this super Bordeaux sold out almost immediately. Wines such as this are highly sought-after and correspondingly difficult to obtain, and we're frankly surprised that we've now been able to obtain more! So to answer the inevitable question "do you expect to get more?": we simply don't know! So we suggest acting now while we have the proverbial "bird in the hand", and yes, we've resisted the temptation to hike the price. A powerful, age-worthy Bordeaux for under $20 is becoming rarer by the day, and with that remarkable 97 point rating from Decanter magazine, this hard-to-find Bordeaux will again sell out at our 
of flavor, but also a sense of something held in reserve. The 2019 Château Bourdieu Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux is like a coiled spring, with a sense of power lurking beneath the dark-fruit surface. This age-worthy red can easily hold for another five years, but you can enjoy it now by letting it breathe- perhaps decant it, and give it time to open up. By the way, the appellation "Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux" is just north of the Gironde River, across from the "left bank" Médoc region. The vineyards of Chateau Bourdieu are right near the river (see photo), and as the crow flies are in close proximity to famous left-bank appellations like Pauillac and St. Julien. Still, this is a classic "right-bank" wine, a Merlot-predominant blend supplemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The results exceed anything you'd expect at this price point!
