Germany and Alsace- a country and an adjoining (French) region that are linked geographically, climatically, culturally, linguistically, historically…and in the world of fine wine! The world-renowned wine producing regions of Germany are clustered in the Southwestern corner of the country, and just across the Rhine River in Northeastern France, Alsace produces wines that are every bit as distinguished- though perhaps less well known to most American consumers. Alsatian wines feature some of the same grapes as their German counterparts, but they have a distinct style all their own!
Join us at Finewine.com as we taste as many as 12 classic wines from these classic Old World wine regions. This class will include classic varietals such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer, and we will also explore a broad range of styles, from bone dry to lusciously sweet.
